arts & literacy116:
meet our team

Ms. Kimberly, Elementary PE: In elementary physical activity students are encouraged to continue physical education while virtually. These activities support schools to establish P.E daily and can provide students with the ability and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime. Some activities that students learn are virtual scavengers hunts and virtual dance. Students enjoy movement and taking care of one’s body. Exercise is critical to good health, relaxation, and mindfulness—plus it’s just fun!

Ms. Kimberly, Homework Help: When we join for A&L on Zoom after school, we work on homework and participate in activities. Together, we get to play fun games, do arts and crafts, and stay active with our physical activities.

Mr. Jesus, Homework Help: Hello, my name is Jesus Liriano, I am a Homework Teacher here at PS 116. Throughout program, I am helping students academically. Whether it's doing homework, studying for test or just working on the areas as needed. I also help students who first language is Spanish and teach them English.

Ms. Kayla, Visual Arts: Hello, My name is Kayla Ruperto. At the moment on Virtual Programming I am assistant supervisor. When I am not supervising I am a JR Teaching Artist for PS116 and teach mixed arts. While virtual programming students have created projects like “Vision Boards”. The creation of vision boards allowed students to focus on there goals and what they look forward to in there future in a fun and creative way. The arts allows children to express themselves freely.
